BGS College of Education was established in 2007 with the affiliation of the University of Mysore under the banner of Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust® by the great visionarian Paramapoojya Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji. BGSCE is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and in 2015 the college was accredited by NAAC. The college became a Constituent College of Adichunchanagiri University in 2018 Under the guidance of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, The Founder and the Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri University.
BGS College of Education aims to establish a global identity and produce quality teachers who can meet the demands of the modern world. Additionally, the college aims to enhance human and spiritual values, create better teachers of tomorrow, and establish itself as a national flagship institution. In 2021 the college was awarded “Karnataka’s Best -20 Educational Institution” by Academic Insights. In the 2023-24 academic year, the college received the award “Karnataka’s Top -3 Educational Institution” .
